āshiq ko dekhte haiñ dupaTTe ko taan kar
dete haiñ ham ko sharbat-e-dīdār chhān kar
aashiq ko dekhte hain dupaTTe ko tan kar
dete hain hum ko sharbat-e-didar chhan kar
ashk-e-ġham dīda-e-pur-nam se sambhāle na ga.e
ye vo bachche haiñ jo maañ baap se paale na ga.e
ashk-e-gham dida-e-pur-nam se sambhaale na gae
ye wo bachche hain jo man bap se pale na gae
'anīs' dam kā bharosā nahīñ Thahar jaao
charāġh le ke kahāñ sāmne havā ke chale
'anis' dam ka bharosa nahin Thahar jao
charagh le ke kahan samne hawa ke chale
tamām umr jo kī ham se be-ruḳhī sab ne
kafan meñ ham bhī azīzoñ se muñh chhupā ke chale
tamam umr jo ki hum se be-ruKHi sab ne
kafan mein hum bhi azizon se munh chhupa ke chale
'anīs' āsāñ nahīñ ābād karnā ghar mohabbat kā
ye un kā kaam hai jo zindagī barbād karte haiñ
'anis' aasan nahin aabaad karna ghar mohabbat ka
